In
order to participate in the Senior Debates from the Tortosa English
Festival, we worked a lot in class preparing ourselves for the
competition. We searched information, exposed ideas and discussed in
front of the rest of the class.
Finally,
we decided our team: Ana Valenzuela, Robin Godwald and Martina Roig.
The 15th of march we went to Tortosa to compete in the debates Many
schools of all Catalonia participated in the competitions which was
held in Tortosa University. This competition was like a tournament,
where the judges taking into account many factors, decided the winner
of each debate. There were eight teams and we had to perform from the
first round.
When
the competition started all was hard-fought. All the matches were
very interesting. The topics were about the mobile phone in class,
single-sex schools… At the end, in the final round, we won with
the topic: “Brexit will damage the European Union”. Now these
three girls will have the opportunity to spend three marvelous weeks
in a University in Whales during the summer.
